This project called for the repositioning of an outdated office complex into a 'state of the art' facility which would be responsive to the latest needs of 21st Century tenants. Working with Beyer Blinder Belle Architects the brick paved roof deck was transformed into a garden with an updated water feature and a vehicular valet parking system. The task of the design was to provide for visitor receiving and reception with particular attention paid to making the space visible to the surrounding streets. The main vehicular and pedestrian entrance areas are now important accessible areas that are the showpiece of the entire complex.
The entire project involved working over deck areas on top of a below grade parking structure. Particular attention was given to the detailing of the waterproofing and its interaction with the overburden materials. This included pavements, planting, fountains and other amenities.
