Transpotomac Canal Center

Location Alexandria Virginia
Client Savage Fogerty
Architect CHK Architects
Cost $ 5 million
Completion 1988

The dramatic site on the Potomac River in Alexandria provided the opportunity for a rewarding collaboration between developer, landscape architect, and artist. Savage Fogerty arranged for French sculptors Anne & Patrick Porier to work with us in collaboration. This resulted in the Promenade Classic, starting with the center vehicular entry with its 18 foot high bronze spear that punctuates the earth and spews water which cascades down through marble fragments.
